I bought this for my overheating HP pavilion -Dv5 notebook but it does not fit properly – so now my laptop wobbles when kept on it.

Secondly – when I got this in mail it was broken from one edge.

I was and am completely disappointed in this product. With in days of purchase I received my order. I used it for one day and noticed that one of the fans was making noises. I took a look at it and the fans were not connected and slid around in side the device. The only way this thing would be worth it is if it was free and that is a stretch. Please don’t buy this, it’s not worth it.

Like one of the other reviewers, I bought this based on the initial five star review. The moment I touched this though I started rethinking my purchase (it’s made out of really cheap/thin plastic).

After powering on, what little air does come out the bottom is inconsequential because the moment I put my laptop (hp dv6000) on it, the cheap plastic bends a little and the fan blades get pressed against the plastic, enter a horrible noise.

I used a book before I bought this rubbish, it served for better ventilation than being on my lap. I’m back to using a book after having wasted ten bucks on this.

Bottom line: belongs in a garbage heap.

As the title says this unit isn’t worth $10. I believed the review above and purchased this unit. I would do better to just sit and blow on the laptop. There is 0 air coming out of the fans so STAY AWAY!

I have a Compaq Evo N610C laptop with a 2.4GHz CPU and 2 GB RAM. My laptop worked ok until I started running CPU intensive fast fourier transforms. The cpu would over heat and the unit would shutdown. I bought this cooling pad as a last resort; I had nothing to lose since it was inexpensive.

The cooling pad worked great, and keeps my laptop surprisingly cool. I have not had one single overheating problem since I started using it. It is also very quiet. I highly recommend this light weight unit.
